Father Kenneth Doyle, who wrote the popular Catholic News Service “Question Corner” column for the last 11 years and had served as the CNS Rome bureau chief in the early 1980s, died Oct. 28 at Teresian House in Albany. He was 82.

A funeral Mass for Franciscan Sister Dorothy Elizabeth Real (formerly Sister Marie Patricia) was offered Oct. 26 at Assisi House in Aston, Pa. Sister Dorothy died Oct. 19.

A funeral Mass for School Sister of Notre Dame Mary Theodore Baccala was offered Sept. 21 at Villa Assumpta in Towson. Sister Mary Theodore died Sept. 14. She was 89.

Deacon Ralph Trautwein Sr. died Oct. 20 at age 82. Ordained June 15, 1996 at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Homeland, he had served his entire diaconate at St. Ignatius in Hickory.

A funeral Mass for Franciscan Sister Joseph Brennion will be offered Oct. 13 at 11 a.m. at Assisi House in Aston, Pa. Sister Joseph died Oct. 8. She was 92 and had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 71 years.

Remembered as a dedicated shepherd to his flock, Monsignor Joseph Luca, pastor emeritus of St. Louis in Clarksville and St. Francis of Assisi in Fulton, died Oct. 1 after a long battle with cancer. He was 79.

A funeral Mass for Franciscan Sister Susan Kathleen Dentz (formerly Sister Marie Mercedes) was offered Sept. 27 at Assisi House in Aston, Pa.

A funeral Mass for School Sister of Notre Dame Sarah Thomas “Sally” Neale was offered Aug. 27 at Villa Assumpta in Towson. Sister Sally died Aug. 17. She was 87.

Retired Archbishop Joseph A. Fiorenza, the longtime bishop of Galveston-Houston and a tireless social justice advocate throughout his priesthood, episcopacy and in retirement, died Sept. 19. He was 91.

Father A. Henry Kunkel III, the beloved longtime pastor of St. Mary in Pylesville who led his rural church with a “family-centered” approach, died Sept. 18 at WellSpan York Hospital in Pennsylvania. The native of Peru was 79 and had been battling a number of ailments, including skin and prostate cancer.
