Known as “Sister Kate,” the Sister of Mercy led Immaculate Heart of Mary School for 15 years and then served as pastoral associate in northeast Baltimore.

A funeral Mass was offered Feb. 22 for Mission Helper of the Sacred Heart Sister Anne Guinan in the Stella Maris Chapel. Sister Anne died Feb. 13 at 92.

A funeral Mass was offered for Sister of Mercy Joan Dumm Jan. 18 at the Stella Maris Chapel in Timonium. A beloved member of the St. Joseph School in Cockeysville community, she was known as the authority on preparing students for their first Communion. Sister Joan died Jan. 13.

Mark Wallen spoke Feb. 21 at a news conference in Annapolis to promote Senate Bill 561/House Bill 757, also known as “Laura and Reid’s Law,” which would expand fetal homicide protections to as few as eight weeks’ gestation.
