A funeral Mass for School Sister of Notre Dame Ann Elizabeth (Mary Benedictus) Hartnett was offered Nov. 19 at Villa Assumpta in Baltimore. Sister Ann died Nov. 7 at Stella Maris. She was 88.

A funeral Mass for Adrian Dominican Sister Sarah Ann Sharkey, formerly known as Sister John Peter, was offered Nov. 26 at St. Catherine Chapel in Adrian, Mich. Sister Sarah Ann died Nov. 19. She was 83 and in the 64th year of her religious profession.

Redemptorist Father Patrick Flynn, who served the parish of St. Mary in Annapolis for nearly two decades, died  Jan. 14 in his native South Africa. He was 83. 

Two-time Emmy-winning reporter Stephon Dingle credits the Catholic education he received at Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School in Essex for helping shape him into the man he is today.
