A funeral Mass for Franciscan Sister Mary Louise Heinle (formerly Sister Kathleen Joseph) will be offered Sept. 9 at Assisi House in Aston, Pa. Sister Mary Louise died Sept. 5.

A funeral Mass for Christian Brother Steven Casale was offered Sept. 1 at La Salle University in Philadelphia. Brother Steven died Aug. 29 in Philadelphia. He was 81.

Brother Joseph entered the Christian Brothers in 1959. He served as an educator at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson from 1963 to 1965, St. Frances Academy in Baltimore from 1997 to 2002 and Bishop Walsh School in Cumberland from 2002 to 2005.

St. Casimir Parish in Canton lost one of its bright lights Aug. 22 when parishioner Victor Malabayabas was killed in his Baltimore City neighborhood after an apparent robbery attempt.

Retired Archbishop Rembert G. Weakland, who was the ninth archbishop of Milwaukee from 1977 until his retirement in 2002, died overnight at Clement Manor in Greenfield after a long illness, the archdiocese announced Aug. 22. The prelate, who lived at the residence, was 95.

Monsignor John J. Auer died Aug. 14. He was 92.

Redemptorist Father Kevin Milton, a former pastor of Our Lady of Fatima in East Baltimore and rector at St. Mary in Annapolis, died Aug. 9 in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. He was 81.

A funeral Mass for Little Sister of the Poor Bernadette Wilson will be offered Aug. 17 at St. Martin’s Home for the Aged in Catonsville. Sister Bernadette died Aug. 12. She was 71.

Brother Floyd, who held a bachelor’s degree from La Salle College, served as an educator at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson from 1965 to 1968 and from 1987 to 2015. He also ministered in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.

Oblate Father Carl Kabat, a former Baltimore resident who routinely described himself as a “fool for Christ” for his many faith witnesses challenging U.S. nuclear weapons policy, died Aug. 4 at his religious order’s Madonna Residence in San Antonio. He was 88.
