When Jesus was “resurrected” in the proper sense of the term, he moved totally beyond death and could never die again.

We had a magnificent Easter, one that continues!

He extends his grace, invites us to feast at the Eucharistic table, and welcomes us home.

How fortunate we are to find strength and support in our friends – and offer them our love and support in return. We can be sure that those connections are no accident.

When we confess our sins to a priest in the sacrament of penance, we can know with confidence that our sins are forgiven, because of Jesus’ own words.

That exchange with those grieving parents has had a deep impact on my Holy Week. The way the pope holds the mother and reaches out to the father shows such compassion and love. The way he pauses to pray with them as if they are the only people in the world is such a beautiful gift.

The redemptive act of Christ, done in obedience to the Father’s saving will, embraced the full range our triumphs, tragedies and sins.
