Archbishop William E. Lori blessed two upscale four-bedroom suburban houses in Howard County

Hundreds of women from Maryland (and beyond) spent three days of spiritual talks, fellowship and adoration at the 7th Maryland Catholic Women’s Conference.

Family, friends and supporters of Ss. James and John Catholic School in East Baltimore celebrated the 170th anniversary of the institutions’s founding Oct. 8.

The Our Lady of Fatima Rosary Congress, a week-long devotion of prayer with the rosary, concludes Oct. 13. Seven parishes participate.

“I love him, I do,” said Sister Angela, who praised both Hennawi and his staff. “It’s a happy place, a joyful place. The first thing he said to me was, ‘What can I do for you?’ – which is a beautiful way to begin a relationship.”

While longtime Mercy Medical Center staffer Edna Jacurak’s official title is Collections Manager, she spends her spare time working on completely different types of collections.

Al Edwards and Pam Zusi, longtime supporters of Catholic education, were honored with the 2017 John McElroy Award Oct. 3 by the Friends of Catholic Education.
According to its mission statement, FOCE is “dedicated to providing a Catholic school education in Frederick County for all who seek it.” Since its founding in 1989, it has provided more than $5 million in financial assistance to Catholic schools and students in the county.
Edwards and Zusi have been a big part of that effort.

“When people ask for prayer, I follow up with a note,” Nadolny said. “I want to know how they are doing, and to keep me updated. I also invite them to join the prayer group.”
